Rob Smedley, the former Ferrari engineer, tried to get to the bottom of Lewis Hamilton's simulator complaints and got nowhere. "I spoke to a couple of people, but they shrugged their shoulders when I asked them the question," Smedley said on a podcast. He noted what happened when Hamilton simply stopped using it: "Hamilton said he hadn't worked on the simulator before Canada and that made him feel free, because he felt it was dragging him in a direction he didn't like. It is now statistically true for him that if you don't work on the simulator, you go to the podium."
